I recently read a New York Times article highlighting the layered politics of how monuments are determined, selected, and developed. History, community, and notoriety are all high stakes factors that often conflict. Despite the complexity of this process, I am undeterred in my own pursuit of a large scale/public practice. WMOAP and the Florida Art Prize certainly whetted my appetite for construction…
